Lili is a heart-focused yoga teacher with a passion for sharing the beauty and joy of yoga.
After years of suffering from chronic fatigue and experiencing the profound healing effects of yoga, a deep gratitude for these teachings and a strong interest in psychosomatic therapy, invoked a desire to share her love of yoga, inspiring her to travel to India to complete her first teacher training in Ashtanga Vinyasa/Flow with Tribe Yoga in January 2013.
This training was the catalyst to leave her ‘fear-based safety net’ of working in the corporate world and was the beginning of a lifelong journey. She has since completed various trainings in Yin Yoga with Yin Therapy and Danielle Mercer, completed studies at Hridaya Yoga School, as well as studies in Trauma-informed yoga. Lili has studied and practiced a variety of yoga styles in Australia, Bali, Guatemala, Mexico and India and in April 2019 she is continuing her yoga studies in Kundalini Yoga.
Classes encourage a strong emphasis on breath awareness and through the embodiment of asana (physical poses), pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation, students are guided through a moving meditation, at the same time tuning into the needs of their own body and honouring themselves in the present moment.
The gift of yoga is an ongoing and evolving practice and every session is an opportunity for both teacher and student to learn and grow together.
Lili met Donna in May 2015 after returning to live in New Zealand after 21 years abroad and often says ‘life has never been the same since!’. Together they collaborate in ensuring the studio is a safe space for all as well as leading local and international retreats.
