Olivia unintentionally found Bikram Yoga in November 2016 after having tried everything she could for relief from sever lower back pain. Physiotherapy, Osteopathy, Acupuncture, Bowen Therapy, Doctors, X-Rays… She was 19 with a huge interest in health and fitness, and found basic human movement near impossible.
Through her experiences she has slowly educated herself on the human body, movement, health and nutrition. It was only through this injury that she found her calling, and for that she remains very grateful. Olivia’s practice grew rapidly. She was in the hot room every day and 3 months into her practice she was offered a position on front desk at Hot Yoga Dunedin. Everything was flowing and she feels so lucky to have been shown her path at such a young age! Within her first year of practice, she competed in the New Zealand Yoga National Championships and also attended Jedi Fight Club which both helped to take her practice to another level. A month later, she went to her first teacher training, Inferno Hot Pilates, and began teaching in January 2018. From there, she attended Bikram Yoga Teacher Training in June 2018 and has been teaching full time at Hot Yoga Dunedin since.
Olivia’s ultimate goal in this life is to provide enough knowledge to inspire others and help them understand that they too have the power to heal themselves. She believes strongly in the discipline of the practice and encourages her students to be still, breathe more, try their best, and to just trust that whatever happens inside the room is only going to make you a stronger, happier, more wholesome soul.
