Peggy Preston TEACHER TRAINER
Peggy Preston is delighted to be one of the principal teachers on the 2023 Original Hot Yoga TT in Queenstown. Peggy’s journey began with a class in Los Angeles. Soon after, she applied for the last training in 1999 graduating 10 weeks later with a 200 hour diploma to teach the OHY. It was the last small training with some of the best teachers at the time.
After training, Peggy taught in Colorado for 3 years before she began her journey that would eventually lead her to Queenstown. Peggy opened an affiliated studio in 2007 and sold it in 2014. It is still running successfully to this day. Peggy has achieved a 500 hour teacher training certification from Yogarts and a 200 hour diploma in advanced yoga studies. In addition, she has recently completed a 50 hour training in the subtle practices of pranayama and mediation as well as re-certifying with the original hot yoga twice over the years.
Peggy says, “ The practice has been a journey for me. When I strayed from the path, I have always come back which enabled me to heal my body and bring peace and balance into my life. It has been the most important practice I have ever found. I am now 51 years old and the practice is still one of the most important foundations of my life.” Peggy now lives in New Plymouth teaching the OHY with hopes to train up some new teachers and continue to grow and spread the knowledge of this amazing style of yoga.
